Richland 1 Elementary Visual Art Exhibit

Richland 1 Elementary Visual Art Exhibit March 21- April 2

The annual Richland 1 School District Art Show is being held at Tapp’s on Main Street from March 21-April 2. Satchel Ford is represented quite nicely with a small portion of  artwork that was created by some very talented students. Several students were awarded ribbons and will be receiving these when the show is stricken. Following is a list of those ribbon winners:

First Place: Anna Clay Smith and Matthew Robinson

Second Place: Reese Hudgens and Corbin Davis

Third Place: Daisly Inman and Bela Trumpeter

Honorable Mention: Miracle Givens and Louisa White

Each year, a piece of artwork is selected from every elementary school that becomes a part of the Permanent Art Collection.  This is quite an honor, as the work is professionally framed and travels around the district for a period of a year. Once that year is completed, the artwork is returned to its home school to be permanently hung in the school’s art gallery. For 2018-19, Madeleine McCarter’s Georgia O’Keeffe flower was chosen to represent Satchel Ford Elementary. Please join us in celebrating all of these students for their wonderful accomplishments in the visual arts.
