Preventing the Summer Slide

Greetings Hornets! As the school year comes to an end, please make sure you engage in daily reading activities over the summer to prevent the “Summer Slide”.

Research proves that students who engage in meaningful summer reading activities increase their reading Lexile while students who do not can lose as much as two reading levels. This is called the “Summer Slide”.

So let’s jumpstart summer reading by visiting the Edgewood Branch of the Richland County Public Library. Don’t  be a “slider”… be a Reader Leader! See you next timeJ
