New Mobile Dental Service Coming to Richland One Schools
Starting August 21, Richland One students can get dental services, including exams, x-rays, cleanings and fillings, at school. The convenience of this new service means students won’t have to miss school and parents won’t have to leave work to take their children to the dentist.
Here’s how it works: A van complete with dental equipment and a dentist from Dental Access Carolina will visit district schools during regular school hours to provide services to students.
The mobile dental clinics will be available to students at all Richland One schools. Dental Access Carolina accepts all forms of health insurance. Parents can sign up for the new program at www.dentalaccesscarolina.com or get a form from their child’s school. Dental Access Carolina will schedule the children for appointments throughout the school year.
Richland One Nursing Services Coordinator Margie Moore says this new service will help busy families, especially parents who may have limited access to transportation.
“With this state-of-the-art mobile dental clinic, parents can cross one more thing off of their to-do list,” said Moore. “This service will keep students in the classroom, save parents time off from work and provide services to students who may not be receiving regular dental care. It’s a win-win for Richland One families and we encourage them to sign up for the program, if they think it’s right for their family.”
