Dreher Drama Students Qualify for National Competition

Fifty-five Dreher students of District Lead Theatre Teacher and Dreher Drama Director Kathleen Pennyway competed at the Palmetto Dramatics Association/South Carolina International Thespian Society (PDA/SCITS) annual competition at Winthrop College.  Many were recognized for their performances:

 

PDA Awards:

 

Superior in Overall Play Production - Almost, Maine

 

Superior Ensemble - Almost, Maine Dancers (Amanda Robertson, Mary Devall Koenigs, and Cassandra Escorcia)

 

Superior Acting in a One-Act - Jessa Philp

 

Excellent Acting in a One-Act - Demarcus Williams

 

Excellent Acting in a One-Act - Jeb Bartlett

 

Honorable Mention Acting in a One-Act - Thomas Summers

Tyler Wesley - Superior in Monologues

Ella DuBard - Superior in Monologues

Tyler Wesley and Arrington Jones - Superior in Duet Musical

Thomas Summers and Reagan Smith - Superior in Duet Acting

Sydney Largent - Superior in Solo Musical

Sofie Jones - Superior in Solo Musical

Jessa Philp - Superior in Stage Management 

Auston Brazell - Superior in Theatre Marketing

 

In addition, Jeb Bartlett, Ellie Thomson, and Maddie Voelkel were elected State Thespian Board Officers, and will represent South Carolina in the coming year. 

 

Latasia Glover received a $500 scholarship to Winthrop, should she choose to attend that school.
