Where do I get my bus?

Message to parents/guardians from District One:

Richland One Parents and Guardians,

The big day is just a couple of days away – Richland One students will head back to school Thursday, August 8!

If you have a child who will be riding the bus to and from school this year, be sure to download the My Ride K-12 mobile app. The free app will allow you to receive information about their bus route on your phone. Through the app, you will be sent an alert of the estimated time of arrival of their bus. The district can also send important and timely push notifications through the app, such as notifying parents of a late bus, the use of a substitute bus or a bus accident. Parents must stay logged in to the app to receive push notifications from Student Transportation Services in real time.

To download the app, search for My Ride K-12 in the App Store (Apple iOS) or Google Play for Android, then install the app and register in the app. When you are asked to find a school district, search for Richland County School District One. You must have your child’s student ID number to set up your account in the app. If you don’t know your child’s student ID number, contact the school.

Our Student Transportation Services staff will contact parents of students in district programs (such as magnet choice programs, Heyward Career and Technology Center, and ESOL programs) about bus transportation for the new school year. The My Ride K-12 app will provide parents with bus route information (bus stops and pickup times) for special program buses, but those buses currently are not capable of providing the live estimated times of arrival. The app will connect parents to Student Transportation Services, and you will be able to receive messages from department staff.

Please note that bus routes for the 2024-2025 school year will not be posted on the district’s website. Parents and guardians can get that information through the My Ride K-12 app. If you have any questions about the app or your child’s bus route, call one of our Student Transportation Call Centers (see below) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday:

  • North Hub (803) 691-5590 – Columbia High School, Eau Claire High School, C.A. Johnson High School and W.J. Keenan High School, as well as their feeder elementary and middle schools
  • South Hub (803) 695-5499 – A.C. Flora High School, Dreher High School and Lower Richland High School, as well as their feeder elementary and middle schools

Thank you.
