Information of Interest to Students
eLearning Has Begun
Are you working on your assignments? Be sure to visit Dreher's eLearning page.
The District's approved eLearning Plan is that students will be graded based on teachers' existing practices. Should this change, you will be notified.
Limited or No Access to WiFi?
Beginning on March 26, Richland One will send WiFi equipped buses to nine sites. Students cannot enter the buses, but can access the internet from their cars. Sites are listed here.
For families with limited access to high-speed internet or broadband services, Richland Library's WiFi will remain on and does extend to areas outside of 12 of the 13 library locations with the exception of Richland Library Sandhills.
Also, there are various offers from service providers that your families can check out: Free or Discounted Internet Service.
Completing Your Assignments "Virtually"
Students, your teachers have been reminded not to assign zeros or absences for missing assignments. Your grade will remain blank or be marked as missing. You will be given a grace period once we return to school. We realize that there have had multiple issues with Edmodo and Microsoft Teams thus far.
Courses with the SC Virtual School
There will be no final exam in courses taken through the SC Virtual School: https://virtualsc.org/virtualsc-final-exam-update/
If you have finished your assignments and are looking for something else to do, consider reading a good book.
See our webpage, "Reading Our Way Through This Difficult Time."

The ACCUPLACER Assessment for Midlands Tech
Students can now take the ACCUPLACER assessment on school-issued Dell laptops. By March 31 representatives from Midlands Tech will be reaching out to both applied and admitted seniors to discuss the next steps in the enrollment process.
leaving the office yesterday, I received some great news: STUDENTS CAN NOW TAKE THE ACCUPLACER ASSESSMENT VIA THEIR SCHOOL-ISSUED LAPTOPS! The ONLY setback is Chromebooks will require special software so there’s still some uncertainty regarding them but from what I’ve seen, most students are using Dell laptops (please correct me if I’m mistaken). This is awesome news because there are several seniors who only need to take the placement test for admission. I will be reaching out regarding both applied and admitted seniors and discussing their next steps in the enrollment process between now and March 31st. Once the dust settles and we begin to work towards normalcy, my hope is we’ll be able to reschedule some events we had/have in place. As always, please contact me if you have any questions.
