Dreher Students Honored at Urban League Banquet

At its annual celebration of "Young and Gifted" African-American students in our community, the Urban League of Columbia honored some of Dreher's many accomplished seniors. 


Spotlight Spotlight Award: Tasya Washington


Tasya has been an active member of the Student Council since her freshman year and this year was elected President of the Student Body. Tasya is also an active member of the Mock Trial Team and Youth in Government Club. She was recently named "Best Witness" at the Columbia Regional Mock Trial competition. Tasya volunteers daily in the Tutoring Center and is a member of the National Honor Society. Tasya serves as Senior Class representative on the School Improvement Council and is on the Superintendent's School Council.

Dreher's Academic Award honorees were Breana Woodard, Jordan Gabriel Jones, Iyona Rickerson, Dana DeVeaux, Nia Burton, Fethiye Harris, Jayla Robinson, Olivia Thrower, Tasya Washington, Kourtlyn Makyla Ellis, Zaria Gilmore-Stevenson, Kayla Morman, Jania Williams, Dereck Webber, and Ugonna Okereke.


Honorees in the Arts were Dana DeVeaux, Nia Burton, Derreck Webber, and Breana Woodard.


Recognized for Leadership were Ugonna Okereke, Derreck Webber, Iyona Rickerson, and Breana Woodard.


Recognized for their achievements in Career and Technology Education were Levante' Binion, Derreck Webber, Iyona Rickerson, and Ugonna Okereke.


Recognition for athletic achievements went to Jordan Gabriel Jones, Levante' Binion, Jania Williams, Iyona Rickerson, and Nia Burton.
