Six Richland One Schools Receive More Than $100,000 in Grants for Arts Programs

Six Richland One schools have received 2022 Distinguished Arts Program (DAP) Grant Awards totaling more than $100,000. The grants are funded through the General Appropriations Act and administered by the South Carolina Department of Education (SDE).

A.C. Moore Elementary, Alcorn Middle, Hand Middle, Heyward Gibbes Middle, Logan Elementary and Satchel Ford Elementary schools each earned the $18,000 grant award from SDE’s Office of Standards and Learning.

DAP is offered through the Arts Curricular Innovation Grant (ACIG) Program. It stipulates that each school foster innovative development and implement curricula, instruction and assessments based on state standards. A requirement is that each project serve as the foundation for quality instruction and growth in dance, music, theatre, visual and media arts, and in design.
