Three Richland One seniors – Rori Goff, Tennare Jackson and Hannah Greene have been awarded $20,000 scholarships from two local Rotary clubs.
Rori, who attends C.A. Johnson High School and plans to pursue a degree in nursing, will receive a scholarship from the Columbia Rotary Club. Rori is a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She participates in three different sports while taking rigorous courses and maintaining a high grade-point average.
Tennare and Hannah were awarded their $20,000 scholarships by the Capital Rotary Club. Tennare attends Lower Richland High School. She is also pursuing a general college studies certificate from Midlands Technical College. This Honor Roll student is a cheerleader, as well as a member of the Beta Club, student council and Future Business Leaders of America. She plans to seek a career in the computer science field.
Hannah’s dedication to academics has resulted in her being on the A-Honor Roll, as well as the Principal’s Honor Roll, for four years at W.J. Keenan High School. She ranks in the top three of her senior class, while working a part-time job. In addition to being a cheerleader and member of the Beta Club, Hannah serves as vice president of her senior class and president of the Student Athletics Advisory Council. Her career goal is to become a psychiatrist.
The district extends its congratulations to these outstanding students and thanks the Columbia and Capital Rotary clubs for their generosity.
