District Increases Number of Guests For High School Graduations

Richland One seniors will be able to have more family members watch them receive their diplomas in person when high school graduation ceremonies are held in June.

This year’s graduations are scheduled for June 10-15 at the district’s football stadiums. Rain dates, if needed, will be June 16-18. The ceremonies will be livestreamed on the district’s website ( and recorded.

The district previously announced that each graduate would receive two tickets for guests, but that number has been increased to four tickets for each graduate.

“Our stadiums are large enough for us to allow graduates to have more guests in attendance while maintaining a safe environment,” said Richland One Superintendent Dr. Craig Witherspoon. “Masks, social distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols will still be enforced.”

The district’s clear bag policy also will be enforced at all of the stadiums. Additional details about the graduation ceremonies, including arrival times for graduates and parking information, will be communicated to seniors and their families by their respective high schools. Graduation information that is applicable to all high schools will be posted on the district’s website.
