You could call it the Richland One advantage – free pre-kindergarten programs taught by certified teachers.
During its open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year, Richland One encourages parents to consider the advantages its traditional pre-kindergarten programs for 3- and 4-year-olds offer students and families.
“Richland One offers families outstanding educational programs for their children at no cost,” said Dr. Kimberly Johnson, coordinator of school readiness and pre-kindergarten programs. “Not only are our pre-K programs budget-friendly, they are taught by professional certified teachers who know how to prepare young children to be great learners academically, socially and emotionally. Because space is limited and our programs are on a first-come, first-served basis, we are encouraging parents to register their children now.”
To be eligible for the 3K program, which is offered at Gadsden Elementary School, students must be three years old by September 1, 2021. This program is open to all Richland One families, but parents/guardians must provide transportation if they live outside of Gadsden’s school zone.
Richland One’s 4K program, which is offered at 24 elementary schools throughout the district, is open to students who will be four years old by September 1, 2021.
