Heyward Career and Technology Center Preparing Students for High-Paying Careers in IT and Manufacturing

Heyward Career and Technology Center is looking for Richland One middle and high school students interested in getting a jump start on preparing for high-paying careers in information technology (IT), mechatronics and manufacturing.

Interested students, along with their parents, are invited to attend upcoming virtual information meetings. At these sessions, they’ll learn how Heyward prepares students for these fields that could offer them salaries of $40,000-$50,000 after graduating from high school.

The virtual mechatronics/manufacturing meeting, which includes guests from Boeing, Husqvarna and Midlands Technical College, will be held March 18 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.

The virtual IT meeting, which will cover topics such as earning industry certifications, learning technical skills and cybersecurity, will be held March 25 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
