For the second consecutive year, Richland One’s high school graduation rate has not only increased, it’s also exceeded the state average.
The latest graduation rate data was released Friday by the South Carolina Department of Education as part of the 2020 school, district and state report cards.
In 2019, Richland One students and staff celebrated the district’s highest-ever graduation rate of 82.2%. This year, Richland One’s graduation rate increased by nearly a full point to 82.9%, exceeding the statewide average of 82.1%.
“We are excited that our graduation rate continues to improve,” said Richland One Superintendent Dr. Craig Witherspoon.
“Despite the challenges faced by many of our students, they continue to achieve and be prepared to face the future. Reaching yet another significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to raise our graduation rate is due to the hard work of our teachers, principals, support staff and everyone on Team Richland One. We are Richland One Strong!”
