This summer, Richland One high school students can get a head start in planning their careers and getting the skills to prepare them for job interviews and the business world.
Richland One’s Career and Technology Education Department is sponsoring a Work Readiness Summer Camp July 8 – 26 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Heyward Career and Technology Center. It’s free for Richland One students. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The camp will provide information about career options, connect students with community business leaders as mentors and provide work-based learning experiences such as job shadowing. There’s even a yoga class to teach students how to de-stress. The dress-for-success class will help them polish their professional image by learning about business attire and etiquette and job interview skills.
Participants who register by June 4 will receive a special gift on the first day of camp. To apply, visit https://www.richlandone.org/Page/6162 or call 735-3337 for more information.
Heyward Career and Technology Center is located at 3560 Lynhaven Drive. Media inquiries should be directed to the Richland One Office of Communications at 231-7504 or 231-7510.
