March 18, April 11: Richland One Baseball Teams Playing at Fireflies’ Stadium

The baseball teams from W.J. Keenan, Dreher and Columbia high schools will get a taste of the big league this spring when they play games at Segra Park, the home stadium of the Columbia Fireflies. On March 18, it’s W.J. Keenan vs. Columbia. Dreher will take on the Airport Eagles on April 11. Both games start at 6:30 p.m. The Fireflies invited teams from high schools across the Midlands to play at Segra Park in its High School Baseball Series. Richland One encourages everyone to come out and support your favorite teams.

 


March 21-22: A.C. Flora Senior Theatre Students Present Bellwether Thriller

A.C. Flora High School’s production of Steve Yockey’s thriller Bellwether will have you on the edge of your seat March 21-22 at 6 p.m. in Flora’s Little Black Box Theatre. The play features 10 talented seniors in the final performances of their high school careers. Bellwether tells the story of a perfect small community. Bad things don't happen there. All of its inhabitants are deliriously happy. Or are they? What happens when a young girl goes missing shakes the community to its very core and forces its inhabitants to re-examine their seemingly perfect existence? Who or what is to blame? Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.

Bellwether Cast

A.C. Flora High School’s production of Steve Yockey’s thriller Bellwether will have you on the edge of your seat March 21-22. Bellwether tells the story of a seemingly perfect small community shaken by the disappearance of a young girl. Pictured left to right are senior theatre students in the cast: (first row) Skyler Terry, Dymon Gunter, Abby Hodge, Reid Moser, Tyler Gatling (second row) Charlie Bond, Isabelle Wood, Madison Clark, Lily Aiken and Megan Crutchfield. The curtain rises at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.

 


 

March 25: Challenger Learning Center’s Family Fun Rocket Camp

Parents, don’t let your children have all the fun. The whole family’s invited to come to the Challenger Learning Center’s one-day camp to build and launch rockets. The Family

Fun Rocket Camp will be held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The camp is open to the community. The cost for adults is $35 and $10 for each child. March 28: Richland One Middle College Enrollment Information Session

Richland One Middle College (ROMC) is not your typical high school. Classes usually don’t start until 9:30 a.m. This award-winning school on the Beltline campus of Midlands Technical College offers high school juniors and seniors small classes, free college courses and textbooks, flexible school hours and exceptional academic opportunities that can prepare them for college or the workforce. Parents and students interested in learning more about ROMC are invited to attend an information session March 28 at 6:30 p.m. in Richland Hall, Room 131, Midlands Tech, 316 South Beltline Boulevard. Online applications for the 2019-2020 school year are available at www.richlandone.org/romc. Students and parents also may get additional information by calling (803) 738-7123.
