Richland One parents who need help paying for their children’s college tuition or who don’t have a clue where to start or how to get the money are invited to attend the How to Plan and Pay for College 101 workshop.
Richland One’s School Counseling Services Department is sponsoring the free informational workshop, which will be held Tuesday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the A.C. Flora High School auditorium, 1 Falcon Drive.
Workshop topics will include the basics like scholarships, financial aid, reducing college costs and conducting scholarship searches. Parents and students also will get tips on ways to make a student stand out in the admissions process; how to increase the chances of graduating from college in four years, rather than five or six; the cost of private vs. public colleges; and other topics. A certified college planning specialist with The College Funding Center of South Carolina will be the presenter.
Register for this free workshop at www.cfcsc.com or call (803) 798-0390. The workshop is sponsored in partnership with the American College Planning Foundation and The College Funding Center of South Carolina.
