Dreher High School Graduate Awarded Dr. John R. Stevenson Music Scholarship
Emmi Lee, who graduated from Dreher High School in May, has been awarded the 2024 Dr. John R. Stevenson Music Scholarship.
The $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a Richland One high school senior who plans to pursue post-secondary study in music. The scholarship is named in honor of Richland One Superintendent Emeritus Dr. John R. Stevenson, who served as the district’s superintendent from 1986-1994. Dr. Stevenson was inducted into the Richland One Hall of Fame in November 2004. He passed away in January 2019.
Emmi was honored as a Richland One Academic All-Star and High School Scholar in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements. In addition to excelling academically, Emmi participated in several performing arts activities at Dreher, including chorus and marching band. She also had numerous musical theater roles at Dreher and in community theater productions. She has received several honors and awards for her vocal performances.
In the fall, Emmi will begin her studies at Long Island University Post, where she plans to major in musical theater. Emmi is the daughter of Dr. Chris Lee and Kathleen Lee.
