Richland One, Columbia High Receive National Awards for Family and Community Partnerships
Richland One has earned a 2023 Partnership District Award from the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, Columbia High School has received a 2023 Partnership School Award from NNPS.
This is Richland One’s sixth time being recognized for making excellent progress in strengthening its leadership of partnerships and for guiding schools to develop goal-oriented programs for family and community engagement.
Richland One was cited for its Parent Pep Rallies, which were led by the parent and family engagement specialists in the Office of Federal and State Programs. Columbia High was cited for its All Roads Lead Home initiative, which helped establish the school’s alumni association as well as support volunteering and collaboration with the community.
“It is humbling to have the hard work and dedication of our team of parent and family engagement specialists be recognized by the National Network of Partnership Schools. Since the restructuring of the district’s parent and family engagement program in 2017, we have consistently done the work to be a premier example of true family and community engagement,“ said Latorsha Murray, Richland One’s parent and family engagement coordinator.
In addition to Richland One and Columbia High, A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary School and W.G. Sanders Middle School are included in the Promising Practices 2023 e-book in recognition of their family and community engagement activities.
