Richland One Administrative Assistant Named SCAEOP Educational Office Professional of the Year
Bridget S. Bookert has been named the 2023 Betty Blanton Educational Office Professional of the Year by the South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals (SCAEOP).
Bookert, who is the principal’s administrative assistant and bookkeeper at Olympia Learning Center, advanced to compete for the state-level award after being named Office Professional of the Year by the organization’s Richland County affiliate. She will be honored by SCAEOP at an awards luncheon on February 18.
Criteria used to judge candidates for the award include membership/leadership roles in educational professional associations, education and professional development, professional ratings and letters of recommendation.
A graduate of Dreher High School, Bookert has over 38 years of clerical and administrative experience. She has worked in Richland One for 25 years and 22 years in her current position. She earned the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP) highest professional standards certification, Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE), in 2017.
Bookert has served in numerous capacities in the local, state and national chapters of educational office professionals. She planned and organized the 2021 SCAEOP Conference, and she currently serves on the NAEOP Planning Committee and Awards Committee.
