W.J. Keenan Girls Varsity Basketball Player Chosen to Play in McDonald’s All American Game

The top 48 girls and boys high school basketball players in the country will get a chance to showcase their talents on a prestigious national platform during the 2023 McDonald’s All American Games in March.

Among those elite basketball players will be MiLaysia Fulwiley, a senior at W.J. Keenan High School. MiLaysia is the only South Carolina player selected this year and only the sixth girls basketball player from South Carolina ever to be named a McDonald’s All American.

“I’m so excited that I’ve accomplished this goal,” MiLaysia said. “I feel like all of my hard work and dedication has paid off. I can’t wait to go out there and do what I do best in front of the crowd.”

The games will be played March 28 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The girls game will air at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

“This is a goal a lot of high school athletes want to reach,” said W.J. Keenan Head Girls Basketball Coach Reggie McLain. “MiLaysia is a great team player and is very humble. Her teammates really look up to her as an athlete and a person.”

MiLaysia will further her education and play basketball at the University of South Carolina.
