Columbia High Graduate Awarded Dr. Percy A. Mack Leadership Scholarship

Omar Culbreath, Jr., who graduated in May from Columbia High School, has been awarded the 2022 Dr. Percy A. Mack Leadership Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a Richland One high school senior who demonstrates leadership skills and potential, as well as well-rounded involvement in co-curricular activities. The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Percy A. Mack, who served as the district’s superintendent from 2008-2014.

Omar was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Columbia High. He was named a Richland One Academic All-Star and High School Scholar in recognition of his many academic achievements. He is also a senior patrol leader in the Boy Scouts of America and he earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout.

In the fall, Omar will attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he plans to major in political science. His career goal is to be a lawyer.
