  • We are a little late; but, we are HERE!
We have arrived at Literacy Night and I'm so glad that you have made plans to join us! Please find below the link to our Literacy Night "Wakelet" which is just another cool way to say webpage! We hope you have a blast and that your students get the chance to share with you some of the literacy strategies and techniques that we use here at school.
Parents, if you have not already picked up your student's Literacy "Swag Bags," you can pick those up from the main office. Also, the end of your virtual Literacy Night venture, please take a moment to complete the Parent Reflection form at the bottom of the Wakelet page so that you can help us make next year's Literacy Night even greater!
Students, you must complete the student reflection form at the bottom of the Wakelet page to receive your project grade for participating. I will be sending out your names to your teachers by tomorrow at noon for this grade. Please try to ensure that you have completed your reflection form by then if you wish to receive the grade.
    HAVE FUN!

  • Greetings Eagle Families and Community,

Alexandria Williams My name is Alexandria Williams and I am ecstatic to introduce myself as the new principal of Hopkins Middle School. It is truly an honor to serve you and become a part of the Hopkins Middle School family and community.

I am a product of Richland County School District One and I have had the honor of growing in Richland One for 19 years as an adult learner and educator.  I spent 15 years in the classroom teaching science at the middle and high school levels.  Most recently I served as an assistant principal for 4 years at W.G. Sanders Middle School.

I am married to Thaddeus Williams. We have two sons, Jayden and Jackson. We attend Zion Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Thank you to our staff and community for the many strengths I have already begun to learn about our amazing school. I strongly believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and I am glad that we play an integral part in that village.  Let us continue to keep our students the primary focus of our work as we continue to excel in academics, athletics, and the arts.

I believe in the Three R’s: Respect, Responsibility, and Results.  You, our families, our students, our teachers, our staff, and our community are worthy of respect, we all share the responsibility of educating our students, and we expect nothing less than the BEST.

Everyone has a voice; your voice matters. I would like to invite you join our School Improvement Council and PTA. My door is always open, I look forward to meeting you soon. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. I can't wait to celebrate our collective successes this school year.  Again, I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to working with you soon.  Let's Get Ready to Soar!

    Important Announcement

As we work to move through these unprecedented times, one of our goals is to assist parents and guardians as they adjust to the effects of COVID-19. To accomplish this, Hopkins Middle School will provide school supplies to all students for the 2020-2021 school term. The following items will be distributed to our students: book bags, earbuds, post-it note pads, flash drives (4GB), index cards, glue sticks composition notebooks, notebook paper, dividers, folders (3-prong), pens, pencils, color pencils, markers, highlighters, and rulers. You will be notified of the date and time for supplies pick-up prior to the school's reopening.

Please remember that you must register your returning students and new students by going to the Richland School District One website at Richland One and by clicking on the Parent Portal. There are now two options for enrolling students:

    1. Phase-In Model: Under the Phase-In Model, we will begin the school year with eLearning due to Richland County's current COVID-19 rating of High Risk. We will transition to the hybrid and transitional models when the risk level decreases, as determined by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
    2. Richland One Virtual School Program Model: Parents can opt to enroll their children in our R1 Virtual School Program (K-12), which is a year-long commitment. For information about the plan see ww.richlandone.org/restartstrong.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our office at 803.695.3331.
