A Message from the Principal

Greetings Families!

We certainly hope you all are healthy and safe during this time. Please know you are never too far from the hearts and minds of our staff. Your Bobcat family is diligently preparing for the upcoming school year and cannot wait to begin teaching and learning with you very soon.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is LaQuana Aldridge and it is my absolute honor to step into the role as Principal of A.C. Moore Elementary. My husband, Ash, works in law enforcement and we reside in Lexington with our two young daughters, Charlotte and Eden. Originally I am from New Jersey and began my career there as a special education inclusion teacher prior to relocating to South Carolina in 2011. Upon relocation I taught special education, primary, and upper elementary grades in Lexington-Richland Five. Additionally, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year during this time. My administrative path began as the inaugural Administrative Assistant Principal of Chapin Intermediate School prior to transitioning to Lexington School District One as an Assistant Principal at Midway Elementary School.

Research has shown that A.C. Moore is a school known for being committed to excellence and ensuring all students reach their maximum potential. The passion and dedication possessed by teachers and staff is unmatched. Please be assured of my commitment to honoring, and furthering, that legacy as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times as a Bobcat Family.

I look forward to meeting all of you and welcoming you back for the 2020-2021 school year. I am certain it will be our best one yet! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time if we can assist you in any way. I wish you all an enjoyable summer until we meet again.
"Go Bobcats!'

Sincerely,

LaQuana P. Aldridge

    Dear A.C.Moore Family,

The link below will take you to  a read aloud entitled The Yucky Bug by Julia Cook.  Julia Cook has wrritten many books for children on social/emotional issues, and our students have heard me read most of them at one time or another!  This link is a great reasource to share with your children to help answer questions that they may have about COVID-19 and to alleviate fears and anxiety.
