We are Hopkins Elementary, a leader in transforming lives through education, empowering all students to achieve their potential and dreams.
Dear Hopkins Elementary Stakeholders:
I am truly honored to be a part of the Hopkins Elementary Family. We are in for a fantastic year! I am a lifelong learner and proud product of Richland School District One. My post graduate work includes earning my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University and my Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University.
As the principal of Hopkins Elementary, it is my mission to engage, educate, and empower each and every stakeholder of our school community into places of continual excellence as collaborative partners in education.
I truly believe that there are great things happening at Hopkins Elementary and, moreover, this school has an amazing amount of potential to far exceed expectations to produce global learners who will one day be global leaders.
We will continue with AVID Elementary (Advancement via Individual Determination) which encourages students to have a “growth mindset” by emphasizing the principle that “progress is determined by personal effort.” Our third through fifth grade teachers will continue with the implementation of AVID strategies in their classrooms, teaching the students specific skills/ strategies that will help them achieve their goals. Additionally, we will continue to work to make learning visible in every classroom by ensuring that all students know what they learning and why they are learning the material. These strategies will help students to be successful not only in school, but in life…from elementary school...through college and beyond!
Throughout the year, I encourage you to stay connected by taking a look at our events calendar, parent information and school resources on our school's website.
