March 30, 2020
As many of you know, Governor McMaster closed South Carolina schools through April 30, 2020. Through this point, many of our teachers are conducting their lessons utilizing various virtual meeting sites such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Teachers have also been meeting with students in various other ways such as front yard visits and phone calls. We certainly appreciate their efforts during this time of uncertainty.
On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, we will be distributing packets provided by Richland School District One for our Bulldogs that are in Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, and Fourth Grades from 8:00 AM-5:30 PM. Details of the pick-up are attached to this communication. Fifth grade will continue with online learning via the Brennen Elementary eLearning website.
I want to say thank you to our Brennen Community because not only have you been working your jobs, you have been taking the time helping your children to continue their learning.
Friday, April 3 will be #BrennenBulldogsPROUD day. Please have your kids dressed in their Brennen swag and tag us on our Brennen Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages using the #BrennenBulldogsPROUD.
As I have said previously, we are all in this together and we ask that you please bear with us as this is still a fluid situation that is constantly being evaluated at all levels of administration. As new information is shared, I will work to keep you informed as quickly as possible regarding dates. Please feel free to email with any questions you have during this time.
Stay Well and hope to see all of you soon.
When bringing your device home from school, please first shut the computer completely down, then restart before use.

A Message from the Principal
Welcome to Brennen Elementary School, known affectionately to all who know us simply as Brennen. We are so glad you are visiting our web site, and we hope it will help you get to know our school. Our school serves over 850 students in grades K-5.
With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, dedicated teachers, and a rich tapestry of cultures representative of our community, Brennen is a wonderful place to teach and learn.
One of the goals I work toward as a principal is to find the best and brightest teachers in the Columbia area. As a community, we work hard to provide a high quality educational experience for all Bulldogs. With continuous family support and outstanding volunteers, our students leave Brennen prepared for the next step in their academic career.
At Brennen, we strive to provide each student with an extensive range of educational opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. Our staff, in partnership with our families, ensures a happy balance of rigorous instruction, extracurricular activities, and social opportunities for our students.
We continue to celebrate our successes over the years. Brennen continues to be recognized as a Palmetto Gold School for our academic performance. We have received an “excellent” rating from the State Department of Education for the past 5 years.
The support we receive from parents and community members fosters ongoing success for our students and allows us to maintain an environment of academic excellence for all of our students.
There are many opportunities for parents to become involved-from volunteering in the classrooms and front office to helping with our wonderful Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Whatever you do, your active support and cooperation combined with our best professional efforts help our students be the best they can be-as students and community members.
See you around campus or in the car rider line.
