Program Overview
The Richland School District One Secondary Virtual School Program is a yearlong program for students in grades 6-12. The goal of the program is to provide students and their families with highquality virtual learning experiences necessary for school success. Students are selected using a lottery for the program based on available slots. The application window usually opens in December of each school year. Completion of the application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
SC Certified content teachers provide instruction through the Imagine Learning platform. While students are required to work mostly independently and asynchronously, students in grades 6-12 are required to report in person periodically for instruction and testing. On days when students learn virtually, they are expected to log into each class daily to meet attendance requirements.
