Language Immersion Program

Program Description:

Language
Students in the Richland One Language Immersion Program can learn Spanish or Mandarin Chinese through an immersion model.  Beginning in pre-kindergarten, students spend half of their instructional day in a Spanish or Chinese classroom learning math, science and Spanish/Chinese literacy. Students spend the other 50% of the instructional day in their English-speaking classroom learning English language arts and social studies.

The goal of the dual immersion program is to have students learn to read, write, speak and listen in Spanish or Mandarin Chinese, all through the meaningful context of math and science.
