Mr. Ekemam Montgomery

Principal of Eau Claire High School

Inside his office, Principal Montgomery keeps this quote by Booker T. Washington on his wall: “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” It’s a quote that Montgomery says he resonates with greatly in his journey to becoming principal.

When a middle or high school student is dealing with significant behavioral issues, depending on the situation, they are sent to Richland One’s Olympia Learning Center. For Bobbie Hartwell, Jr., who is in his fifth year as Olympia’s principal, his job is to lead the way in providing those students with a second chance.
