The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. The scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential.

To gain admission to the LEDA Scholars Program, students must complete a competitive application. The three-round process requires academic information and test scores, a personal statement and supplemental essay, a writing sample, biographical information, information on extracurricular activities, family financial information, and an interview for finalists.
Emerging Public Leaders Summer Program at the Riley Institute, Furman University
The Riley Institute at Furman’s Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) program is looking for rising high school seniors (current juniors) who are striving to become leaders and improve their communities.
EPL, which includes a residential week on the Furman campus (June 16 – 21) and a school-year long service component, is free of charge to all current juniors who are selected to participate.
Applications are due by April 5, 2019.
Both the ACT and the SAT will be given at Dreher on different school days at no cost to the parents of juniors. Later this year parents will have the chance to select which test they would like their child to take in the fall.
