Hopkins Middle Teacher Named Professional Development Schools Fellow by USC’s College of Education

Dale Jacobs, Hopkins Middle School’s International Baccalaureate program coordinator and AVID coordinator, has been named a Professional Development Schools (PDS) Fellow for the 2024-2025 school year by the University of South Carolina’s College of Education.

The fellowship program supports teachers and administrators within USC’s PDS Network who are working to complete their doctorate in educational practice and innovation. Jacobs’ concentration is in STEM education.

“I am extremely excited about receiving this fellowship, which will help me both professionally and financially to reach my goal of earning my doctorate. Professionally, I will be able to grow in my leadership positions and enhance my craft as an educator,” said Jacobs.

Hopkins Middle is one of six schools in Richland One that are in USC’s Professional Development Schools Network.
