Meet the Team: Ms. Tracy Dixon

Tracy Dixon is an accomplished educational leader with more than 30 years of management and leadership experience in hospitality, human resources, training and development, and school nutrition administration. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to building high-performing teams, fostering organizational growth, and creating programs that support the success and well-being of those she serves.

Prior to joining Richland School District One, Mrs. Dixon built an extensive career with Sodexo, where she served in leadership roles including:

  • General Manager
  • Human Resources Manager
  • Corporate Trainer

These positions allowed her to develop expertise in operations management, employee training and development, organizational effectiveness, customer service, and leadership development.

In 2004, Mrs. Dixon joined Richland School District One and has spent the past 22 years serving the district in a variety of leadership roles. She currently serves as Executive Director of Nutrition Services, overseeing one of the largest school nutrition programs in South Carolina. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, financial management, regulatory compliance, workforce development, food procurement, central production and warehousing, and the administration of federal child nutrition programs that support thousands of students each day.

Throughout her tenure, Mrs. Dixon has led initiatives focused on operational excellence, financial sustainability, student wellness, and employee development. Under her leadership, the district's nutrition program has strengthened its financial position while continuing to provide nutritious meals that support student achievement, health, and equity.

Mrs. Dixon attended the University of South Carolina, Webster University, and Columbia College, with studies in Human Resources Training and Development, Hospitality, and Organizational Change and Leadership. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration at South University.

While not a Columbia native, Mrs. Dixon has been part of the Columbia community for 27 years, including her time as a student at the University of South Carolina. She returned to Columbia in 2004 and has proudly served Richland One ever since, dedicating her career to supporting students, families, and schools across the district.

Mrs. Dixon is married to her husband, Roosevelt, and together they have four children and two grandchildren. She is passionate about leadership, service, lifelong learning, and creating opportunities that positively impact students, staff and the community.

Mrs. Dixon's career reflects a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and ensuring that every student has access to the resources needed to learn, thrive, and succeed.
