Dreher Navy JROTC Cadet Awarded Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement

Dreher High School Navy JROTC Cadet Dominic Empleo has been awarded the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement, the second most prestigious award that a JROTC cadet can earn. The Bronze Cross is a national award presented to senior JROTC cadets, who demonstrate exceptional performance in academics, service, and leadership.

Dominic was one of 23 cadets from more than 600 Navy JROTC units worldwide to be awarded the Bronze Cross.

“This award is an expression of who I am, my work ethic, and the way I conduct myself along with the academic effort that I put into school. It represents me better than anything I’ve ever received,” Dominic said.

He currently serves as the executive officer of the Navy JROTC’s Blue Devil Battalion and is captain of the JROTC’s academic team. Dominic led the team to sixth place during the national JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB).

“Dreher’s Navy JROTC has been a way for me to focus my efforts into something I can come back to again and again. It’s about the people that I’m servicing. This program has done so much for me,” Dominic said.
