Statement from Richland One Board Chairman Robert Lominack and Richland One Superintendent Dr. Todd Walker
We received a letter yesterday (November 24, 2025) from State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver regarding the completion of an Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) review of the district’s financial and operational practices by a certified public accounting (CPA) firm.
After receiving and reviewing the preliminary report findings, we proactively developed and submitted a corrective action plan to the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE). Now that we have received the final report, we have submitted our formal response and corrective action plan to SCDE Chief Financial Officer Kendra Hunt, as requested by State Superintendent Weaver.
We appreciate the assistance we have received from State Superintendent Weaver and her team. We are confident that we will be able to strengthen the district’s practices in the areas in which a need for improvement was identified. We will share our plan publicly after it has been approved by SCDE.
The CPA’s report will be addressed as part of Dr. Walker’s 90-Day Strategic Entry Plan findings, which will be presented during a December 8 event at W.J. Keenan High School.
