Richland One Offering Summer Jobs and Internships for Teens
Richland One high school students who are looking for paid summer jobs and internships can work in departments within the district.
The R1 Teen Jobs/Internships Program will run from June 1-July 17, with the possibility of some positions extending into the 2026-2027 school year. Starting pay is $12 per hour. Departments with positions available include Facilities Management Services, Nutrition Services, Advanced Academic Programs, Transportation Services and Extended Day Programs and Strategic Partnerships.
Students can use their participation in the program to meet the college and career ready indicator for graduation; get a head start on their intended college field of study; or gain experience that will prepare them for the workforce. Students are eligible to work up to 25 hours per week.
The summer jobs and internships are only for Richland One students who are at least 16 years old. Students must have their own transportation.
February 27 is the deadline for students to apply. Click here for a list of open positions. More positions will be added soon. Students are urged to complete the application in its entirety. Only students with completed applications will be scheduled for an interview. Interviews will be conducted during Richland One’s Spring Career Fair on Saturday, March 14 at W.J. Keenan High School (361 Pisgah Church Road, Columbia, SC 29203).
Students or parents who would like more information can contact Dr. Charnice Starks-Ray, the work-based learning consultant in Richland One’s Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE), at Charnice.starks-ray@richlandone.org.
