Richland One Coordinator of Parent and Family Engagement Named SC School Improvement Council Advocate of the Year

Latorsha Murray, Richland One’s coordinator of parent and family engagement, has been named the South Carolina School Improvement Council’s (SC-SIC) 2026 Advocate of the Year.

The award honors outstanding individuals and groups that have made a lasting impact on school improvement across the state. Advocates selected for the award have demonstrated their dedication, leadership and commitment to education and communities.

Murray was recognized during the SC-SIC’s annual conference April 18 at the Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in West Columbia.

“I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to be named Advocate of the Year. This recognition gives me renewed energy to continue making a meaningful impact on the families of Richland One while also supporting parent and family engagement leaders across the state,” said Murray.
