Richland One Announces October Dates for Superintendent’s Listening & Learning Sessions

Richland One Superintendent Dr. Todd Walker is continuing his Listening & Learning Sessions at sites throughout the community. The schedule for the October sessions has been finalized.

Dr. Walker is holding Listening & Learning sessions with students, staff, parents and community members as part of his 90-Day Strategic Entry Plan. 

At the end of the 90 days, he will provide a written report outlining his findings to the Richland One Board of School Commissioners. In December, he will present a draft Richland One Vision 2030 to the community. The community will have an opportunity to provide feedback in January 2026. Dr. Walker will present the final Richland One Vision 2030 during his State of the District Address on February 26, 2026 at A.C. Flora High School.

Dates, times and locations of Dr. Walker’s remaining September Listening & Learning Sessions, as well as the October sessions, are below:

  • Saturday, September 20 – Soda City Market (1720 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201), 11:00 a.m. – noon
  • Monday, September 22 – Greenview Park (6700 David Street, Columbia, SC 29203), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 25 – Lorick Park (1600 Lorick Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Monday, September 29 – Drew Wellness Center (2101 Walker Solomon Way, Columbia, SC 29204), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 9 – Shandon United Methodist Church (3407 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 16 – Eau Claire Print Building (3907 Ensor Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 22 – Meadowlake Park (600 Beckman Road, Columbia, SC 29203), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 23 – Big T’s Bar-B-Que (7535 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 30 – Challenger Learning Center (2600-A Barhamville Road, Columbia, SC 29204), 6:00-7:00 p.m.
