Dreher Art Teacher Named South Carolina Art Educator of the Year

Dreher High School art teacher Katie Pfrommer has been named the 2025 South Carolina Art Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Art Education Association (SCAEA).

The award recognizes a K-12 art teacher who has been a member of the SCAEA for three consecutive years, demonstrates outstanding teaching and program development and demonstrates a strong advocacy for the arts.

"I am honored and overwhelmed to be named the SCAEA Art Educator of the Year. Teaching art is my passion. To be recognized for something I care so deeply about is a wonderful feeling. The art classroom is a magical place and there is never a dull moment,” said Pfrommer.

She will be recognized during the SCAEA’s fall conference in Greenville in November.
