Brockman Elementary Selected as Finalist for Palmetto’s Finest Award
Brockman Elementary School has been selected as a finalist for the Palmetto’s Finest Award.
The South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) presents the award each year to schools that offer the best in innovative, effective educational programs. Finalists are named in four award categories: elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and special schools. Brockman is one of three finalists in the special schools category.
Brockman is the flagship school for Richland One’s elementary Montessori program, implementing the method as a whole-school model. The 2025-2026 school year marks 25 years since the school-wide Montessori program began at Brockman.
“Being named a finalist for the Palmetto’s Finest Award is an incredible honor for Brockman Elementary School. This recognition reflects the collective dedication of our teachers, staff, students and families, as well as our strong commitment to the Montessori philosophy. I am extremely proud of our team and the intentional work we do each day to support the academic growth and whole-child development of every student,” said Brockman Principal Dr. Sharonda Giles.
The Palmetto’s Finest Award winners will be announced April 23 via a livestream through South Carolina ETV.
