Volunteer Background Check Information

All volunteers serving with students three or more times a school year or volunteer for an off-campus activity (even if just one time during a school year) must have criminal record checks conducted. Richland One pays for all new volunteer background check fees while funds are available.

Richland One’s Office of Strategic Partnerships and Extended Day Programs uses a formula to allocate funding for volunteer background checks in a fair and equitable manner. Schools designate the applications that should be funded with Office of Strategic Partnerships and Extended Day Programs funds prior to submission for processing.
