Procedures for Enrollment to the Richland One Evening High School
Evening High School Enrollment Procedures
Procedures for students who are a Richland One Drop-out ages 16-20:
- Registration for full credit courses should occur from July- September for the Fall semester and November- February for the Spring semester
- The student or guardian will call the Hearing Office to receive a letter of reinstatement. Once the reinstatement has been issued then the student or guardian should contact the Evening High School and make an appointment to meet with the school Administrator, Counselor and Social Worker for an interview
- The counselor will review the transcript, determine the courses which must be taken or determine if the student can successfully complete the diploma requirements by age 21. If the student is not eligible for enrollment, then they will be referred to the appropriate program
- There is no course fee
Procedures for interviewing potential dropouts who currently enrolled in one of the district’s high schools:
- Students will meet with their home based school counselor
- The zone Administrator and/or Counselor will complete the Evening High School referral form with reasons for admission
- The student will be contacted by the Evening High School to schedule an interview time
- There is no course fee
Procedures for receiving hearing board referrals:
- After receiving the disposition letter from the Hearing Board the parent or guardian will call the Office of Dropout Prevention/Evening High School and make an appointment for an interview
- The student along with their parent/guardian must participate in the interview with the school Administrator, Counselor and Social Worker
- There is no course fee
Procedures for receiving students with Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s):
- The Evening High School can accommodate Special Education students who are on diploma track
- An IEP meeting must be held at the student’s zoned school to consider placement at the Evening High School
- A special review meeting will be scheduled on Tuesday’s or Thursday’s with the Evening High School staff to determine if the Evening High School is an appropriate placement
- If student is accepted, the current IEP will be amended to reflect changes in services provided
Procedures for receiving students who are not a Richland One Student (Out of district, Out of state, etc.):
- Student must report to the Hearing Office and/or District Registrar’s Office to obtain admission to Richland One
