About Montessori in Richland One
A Brief History of Montessori Education in Richland One
Richland One has been a leader in public Montessori education in the Midlands since 2000, starting with Brockman Elementary, the first full public Montessori school in South Carolina. Due to growing parent interest, the district opened Caughman Road and Logan Elementary in 2004, followed by Gadsden Elementary in 2007. Montessori education expanded to middle school in 2014 at W.G. Sanders Middle School.
