National Data Privacy Agreements
Richland School District One, along with all districts in South Carolina are a part of the Alliance 4 Learning Community and are committed to connecting and securing effective learning ecosystems ®. "The A4L Community believes that a secure, efficient, and interoperable data systems are key to unlocking student success."
As part of that community, Richland School District One is part of the Student Data Privacy Consortium which allows us to use the National Data Privacy Agreement to work with vendors. There are currently over 276,046 Data Privacy Agreements in this registry, with 16,248 resources, and 12,633 school districts represented and Richland One is one of those districts.
Having vendors sign the National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) ensures they are legally bound to protect student and district data in compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and other privacy laws while providing a consistent, vetted standard that can be reused across consortium districts, reducing risk and administrative burden. These agreements are good for three years.
