Title IX Information

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS • FIND SUPPORT

Title IX is a Federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, including pregnancy and parental status, in educational programs and activities. The law states that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Richland County School District One does not tolerate sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, or retaliation. In accordance with Board Policies GBAA and JIAA, the district ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. Should you have any questions or wish to file a complaint, please contact our Title IX Coordinator.
