The Facilities Management (FM) department handles all facility related functions, including construction, renovations, maintenance, custodial, environmental, and energy management.
Our construction section manages construction and renovation projects from initial design through completion of the project. Our staff works with professional architects, contracted construction managers, and engineers to ensure appropriate form and function are maintained within district standards. Facility rentals are processed by FM administration through Facilitron, our web-based application.
Our maintenance section maintains our campuses in a safe and attractive manner by keeping all building systems functioning to support the academic learning process with minimum disruption. A diverse group of employees is utilized to maintain over 220 buildings at 60 locations encompassing over 445 acres through our web-based Brightly work order system.
Our environmental and custodial section ensures that a clean and safe environment is maintained daily to provide optimum conditions for teaching and learning. A dedicated custodial team scheduled across 16 hr. staggered schedules maintains all R1 buildings. Environmental concerns are handled based on appropriate safety and health guidelines with internal and external resources.
Our energy management section provides oversight for the Richland One Stategic Energy Management Plan. The district is continuously working on projects for energy savings.
