Richland One School District Hosts Recruitment Luncheon Highlighting Student Opportunities
On Friday, October 3, approximately 70 faculty and staff members from across the Richland One School District gathered for a special recruitment luncheon. The event brought together a diverse group, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, all with the common goal of exploring the wide array of opportunities available to the district's students.
The luncheon, which was both informative and engaging, featured a Mediterranean-themed menu crafted and served by the district's own talented students under the guidance of Chef Lindower and Chef Pringle. Attendees were treated to a delicious choice of either perfectly prepared salmon or chicken, both paired with vibrant, fresh sides. The highlight of the meal was a delectable blueberry and lemon cheesecake topped with a luscious blueberry compote—an unforgettable dessert that had everyone talking long after the luncheon was done!
This event was not only an opportunity to discuss the educational opportunities available to students, but also a chance to celebrate the skills and dedication of the students themselves. By taking on the roles of chefs and servers, the students showcased their culinary talents and professionalism, adding a personal touch to an already memorable occasion.
The luncheon provided a unique platform for fostering connections and sharing ideas, ensuring that Richland One continues to provide its students with the tools, resources, and experiences needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our Career and Technical teachers returned to school for two days of professional development to kick off the year. This year's theme was CTE Trailblazers: Creating Pathways to the Future. Teachers were encouraged to dress the part of old western trailblazers and many of them understood the assignment as they donned their flashiest Country Western gear. There were cowboy hats and boots everywhere you looked!
On day one, faculty and staff were guided through individual sessions including career development and work-based learning to information on Career and Tech Student Organizations and fundraising. Day two covered everything from budgets to mental health awareness.
After lunch, it was time to "kick up some dust" as the dance team from WJ Keenan High School showed up to entertain and teach some line dancing to everyone. It was a great start to the school year!
