High School Diploma Program

Requirements: A transcript evaluation determines eligibility.  You need 10 classes or less to complete the requirements for a South Carolina High School Diploma.  You will also need Internet access at home and a desktop or laptop computer.  The time commitment per course is an average of 20 or more hours per week.  

CHARACTERISTICS OF SUCCESSFUL ONLINE LEARNERS

  • Discipline to complete projects by deadlines instead of waiting until the end of the semester
  • Motivation to read, write, and participate fully in class activities
  • Time to devote approximately 12 hours a week for a one-credit course
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Flexibility in dealing with technology problems
  • Self-starter; does not procrastinate
  • Able to learn from the printed word (Majority of material and communication happens through reading and writing)
  • Able to set aside specific times on a routine basis to participate in the course
  • Asks questions when he/she does not understand
  • Access to a current computer and high-speed Internet
  • Good, basic computer skills
  • Time management skills

 Requirements for 17-year-old students:

  • Withdrawal Form from High School
  • Principal's Recommendation Letter or Hearing Board Referral
  • Official Copy of Transcript
  • Copy of Discipline Record
  • GED Verification of Withdrawal Form

*PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT TO REGISTER 17-YEAR-OLDS

Requirements for 18 + year old students:

  • Official Copy of Transcript
  • Withdrawal Form from High School
  • GED Verification of Withdrawal Form

THERE IS A $25 GRADUATION FEE FOR PROCESSING DIPLOMAS.
THIS INCLUDES THE PARTICIPATION IN OUR GRADUATION CEREMONY AS WELL.


Paperwork must be submitted prior to the first day of class!
