Congratulations to Amanda Melvin who was selected by her peers as our 2020 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Melvin is in our Social Studies department and teaches a variety of classes including AP Macro and AP World History. She's been teaching at AC Flora since 2008 and is our Social Studies department chair.
Each year around this time, AC Flora engages in service projects for those in need in our community. Once again this year, our student leaders, led by our Student Council advisor Ms. Mwamuka, have organized Thanksgiving Meal Boxes and Families Helping Families projects. Click "Learn More" below for details on how you can help.
Faculty members Ms. Boehler and Mrs. Carter are starting an HOSA-Future Health Professionals club on the AC Flora Campus. They will hold an interest meeting on November 12th and 14th during lunch in room 207. Students are welcome to bring their lunch with them to eat. We will be discussing what HOSA is as well as answering questions and giving out important information. Any student is eligible to join even if they do not plan on entering a health care field but have an interest in it.
Did you know that just by grocery shopping and simply entering your phone number at check-out you can provide much needed money to support AC Flora? Parents can partner with our local Publix grocery store to earn money to support AC Flora. By simply creating a personal profile at www.publix.com and choosing AC Flora as your publix partner, AC Flora will receive a percentage of your grocery spending.
Four AC Flora Seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Congratulations to the following seniors for their selection as semifinalists, an honor that less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors achieve: Pictured are: (front) Lauren Amrol, (second row) Elizabeth Thomas, Chloe Courtney Bohl and (back row) Thomas Kepley.
Please be aware that students WILL NOT be dismissed after 2:30 p.m. Thank you for your cooperation.
We love visitors, but we also want to maintain a safe and secure campus. All visitors to our campus must report to the main office and sign in with the front desk. Parents, please help us by refraining from bringing lunch to your students during the school day. We do not have the ability to deliver lunch to your student!
