• Goals and Objectives

     

    Goal One:  To provide a network of services, supports, and activities that promote a safe learning environment where students are drug and alcohol free and safe from bullying and violence.

     

    • Objective 1.  By ADM, the percentage of students who report current (30-day) alcohol use, as measured by 180-day PowerSchool discipline reports, will decrease annually by 5%.
    • Objective 2.  By ADM, the percentage of students, who report personal harassment or bullying on school property during the current school year, as measured by 180-day PowerSchool discipline reports, will decrease annually by 5%.
    • Objective 3.  By ADM, the number of suspensions for violent incidents without physical injury, as measured by 180-day PowerSchool discipline reports, will decrease annually by 5%.
    • Objective 4.  By the end of the project, as a result of placing cameras and/or security devices in/or around school property (or buses), the incidents of violence, bullying, and vandalism will be reduced by 5% as measured by 180-day PowerSchool discipline reports.

     

     

     

    Goal Two:  To provide a network of services, supports, resources, research-based prevention, programs, interventions and strategies that promote the prevention and reduction of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, violence, and bullying in grades 9-12. 

     

    • Objective 1. By 2014, implement Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) with an implementation level of 85% or above.

    • Objective 2. By 2014, train staff on harassment, intimidation or bullying policies and laws to ensure that systems are in place to support programs and activities.

    • Objective 3. By 2014, train and provide technical assistance for teachers implementing Life Skills Training to reduce ATOD use, bullying, and violence.

    • Objective 4. By 2014, develop, market, and provide technical assistance to participants enrolled in ATOD, violence, and bullying web-based/online courses.


    Goal Three:  We will engage students, staff, parents, agencies, and other community members to ensure a safe and supportive place of learning, improved student attendance, graduation rates, academic achievement, and reduce the number of suspensions for violent incidents without physical injury, alcohol, and drug use.  

     

    • Objective 1.  By 2014, provide support and resources on ATOD, bullying and violence prevention for students, staff, and parents.
    • Objective 2.  By 2014, train appropriate staff on the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention – Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Trainings.
    • Objective 3.  By 2014, add new members on the Safe Schools Advisory Council to coordinate bullying, violence, and substance use prevention efforts to prevent duplication of services.
    • Objective 4.  By 2014, conduct parent and community workshops/trainings/meetings on school efforts to prevent and address bullying, violence, and substance use prevention.
