Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to the R.E.S.E.T Social Work Corner
Hello, my name is Sherrell Brown and I am the R.E.S.E.T School Social Worker. So how can I help you? School Social Workers are licensed professionals embedded in our schools to help children and families when they encounter barriers that impact a child’s academic and social development.
School Social Workers are advocates who help students achieve academic and social emotional success by linking the home, school, and community. Social work support services include intervention, crisis support, homelessness, and mental health counseling. Furthermore, School Social Workers address issues of non-attendance and truancy and completing adaptive behavioral assessments.
I currently work with students in grades K-5 on developing skills to help them cope with concerns that they may face. Individualized services may include short & long term individual & group counseling. Meetings and lessons with the School Social Worker can enhance self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and give students the opportunity to learn and practice positive behaviors. Working with the School Social Worker helps students learn more about feelings, making good and safe choices, and about getting along with others.
I am also available to consult and talk with school staff and parents about various topics, and to provide resources and/or referrals if needed. Please contact me if you feel I may be able to help.
