    Due in September 2019
     
    September 30th: Golden Door is a nonprofit scholarship organization which provides large college scholarships to high performing students with DACA. This scholarship has been expanded to include undocumented students without DACA. To apply, click here.
     
    September 30th: Cirkled In(TM) is sponsoring the "No Sweat" scholarship. Applicants will need to create a free student Cirkled In account and complete their portfolio in order to increase their chances of winning. That's it! The scholarship is worth $2,500 and can be used for any educational need from books to housing. To get started, click here.

    October 15th: Submissions for the seventh annual South Carolina High School Writing Contest are now being accepted. The contest is open to South Carolina high school juniors and seniors. The topic is “How should we improve the state of South Carolina?” Submissions in all creative genres, including nonfiction, fiction, drama and poetry are welcome. Submissions must be within 750 words. For more information, click here.
     
    October 18th: Chi Iota Iota Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is pleased to announce its Annual High School Essay Contest. The contest is open to all college-bound high school seniors. The essay must be original and neither previously published nor secured by copyright. Essays must be double spaced, typewritten, and between 700-750 words in length. Essays must include student name, high school and grade level. The essay topic is: "The US Census projects that the United States will become a majority-minority country by 2045. How can we combat, prevent and/or prevent discrimination and violence in a new, more diverse America?" Mail essays to: Chi Iota Iota Chapter Scholarship Committee - P.O Box 1943 - Columbia, SC 29202 or you can submit email essays in MS Word or PDF format to: thomasanthonyperry@gmail.com.
     
    October 25th: The Horatio Alger Association specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders. For a full listing of Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs and their funders, please click here.

    November 1st: The SC Association of Educational Office Professionals (SCAEOP) presents annual scholarships of $1,500 to deserving high school students. The rising cost of tuition at many of our colleges places a hardship on many families. Each year, SCAEOP strives to help ease the economic burden for a deserving student. For more information/an application, click here.
     
    November 15th: The 100 Black Men of Greater Columbia, Inc. is currently acceping applications for their 2019-2020 Scholarship Program.  Scholarships are valued at $500 per academic year and are renewable for up to 4 years (for a maximum of $2,000 for each award). For eligibility requirements and an application, click here.
     
    November 30th: If you are a dynamic, passionate, hard-working student in high school, college, university, or trade school, create a 2-4 minute video explaining why you think education is the key to a brighter future, and how you can shape society. The deadline for the first submission is November 30, 2019 and the winner will be announced on January 15, 2020.     December 1st: The Lyceum Scholars Program at Clemson University is a $10,000 scholarship for incoming freshmen to study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. This program is an eight-course sequence that students take together as an intellectual cohort during their undergraduate careers. The Lyceum Scholars Program is open to any major and fulfills the requirements for a minor in Political Science. For more information, click here.
     
    December 1st: Students who are interested in teaching in South Carolina and meet the qualifications for participation can submit an application for the South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program. The Program is entering its 21st year of offering the state’s brightest and best students up to $24,000 over four years to become South Carolina educators. For more information, click here.
     
    December 2nd: The Kittie M. Fairey Scholarship is providing scholarships for deserving students. Applicants must be enrolled in or planning to attend an accredited college or university in the state of South Carolina. For more information on this scholarship, click here.

    January 8th: The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation is awarding a scholarship to a student who meets the necessary criteria. Click here for more information.
     
    January 17th: The John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest is now open to students. The contest's essay topic is "Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917." For more information on this contest, click here.
     
    January 25th: The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Columbia (SC) Chapter, is in search of 2020 college scholarship candidates. Next spring, NCBW-SC will award ten $1,000 college scholarships. The awarding of the scholarships actuates one of their goals; the encouragement of African-American females to continue their education beyond high school.     January 27th: The Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) and Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated™ (TAI) are two legal entities that are uniquely bound to the central goal of preserving the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen while providing educational services that honor the history of their service. The mission of TASF is to honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by providing motivation, access and scholarships to assist financially and academically deserving students in the pursuit of careers in aviation, aerospace, STEM as well as other disciplines. Applicants must be students from accredited high schools who will graduate (or who have graduated) in the spring of their academic cycle. Additionally, those who apply must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least three point zero (3.0) on a four-point scale.     January 31st: The Harry Hampton Memorial Wildlife Fund, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation which partners with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for the promotion of education, research, management and the administration of game and fish laws, which will benefit conservation of wildlife, marine and other natural resources in South Carolina. The various Hampton Memorial Wildlife Scholarships and criteria for each can be found here.

    February 1st: The James F. Byrnes Scholarship Program was established in 1949 to assist young South Carolinians who had lost one or both parents to obtain a college education. The annual award of $4,500 is applied each year toward a four-year bachelor’s degree program. The scholarship is renewed annually contingent upon the recipient’s maintenance of satisfactory academic standing, need for financial assistance, and participation in Byrnes Scholar activities.     February 14th: The Silver Pen Writing Competition is hosted by Senior Living Communities and Wellmore. Fill out the information here and attach the necessary documents. To complete your application, please include the following: Copy of transcript (can be unofficial) and your essay on a Community Topic.
     
    February 15th: Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) offers 26 scholarships for graduating high school seniors. For a list of available scholarships through DAR, click here.
     
    February 21st: The SCLEOF is the training and educational subsidiary of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association (SCLEOA), South Carolina’s oldest and largest professional association. SCLEOA has been the Voice of Law Enforcement in South Carolina since 1941. Today, nearly 7,000 officers, representing every rank in municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, comprise the membership of our association. The SCLEOF will award one $3,000 scholarship and two $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors in the coming year. One of the $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to the child of an SCLEOA member.     February 28th: The Charleston Women in International Trade is awarding a scholarship to a student. Applicants must submit a complete scholarship packet with the following: 1.) Applicant must be enrolled/enrolling in an accredited South Carolina school, institution, college or university and must provide proof of acceptance or current enrollment 2.) Applicant must be well qualified, with a serious interest in pursuing a degree specific to international trade or related course of study, 3.) Applicant needs not be a full-time student, and 4.) Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. For an application, click here.

    March 5th: High school seniors and current college students can apply for more than 100 scholarship awards online with one general application. For more information, click here.
     
    March 5th: The Central Carolina Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2020-2021 school year. More than 190 scholarship opportunities are available, totaling over $500,000. Interested students should click here to view eligibility criteria and complete the online application.
     
    March 6th: The 2020 African American Network Carolinas Scholarship Fund application is now available. The fund provides scholarships ranging up to $2,000 for graduating seniors in North and South Carolina. The AAN-C Scholarship fund stems from the African American Network, which is a resource group of African American employees at Duke Energy. As a part of its mission, the African American Network - Carolinas Chapter provides scholarships to college- bound students from North and South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance, or business administration. The AAN-C Scholarship Committee will consider academics and financial need of each applicant after assuring they meet the minimum eligibility: 1. Graduating Senior at a North or South Carolina High School, 2. Must attend a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina, and 3. Must plan to major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance, or business administration. For an application, click here.
     
    March 12th: The Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will award fifteen scholarships in the amount of $1,250 each to graduating seniors in Richland, Lexington, Newberry and Fairfield school districts. All applications will be screened based on financial need, GPA, SAT/ACT scores, the essay, recommendation forms, leadership/extra-curricular activities, class rank, and honors/awards.     March 12th: The Order of the Eastern Star, Inc., has 3 scholarship awards available for seniors graduating this year who aspire to attend a college or university. Applicants will write a 2 page essay on a specific topic that will be scored by a panel of impartial judges and the Education Department.     March 15th: Northeast Presbyterian Church is accepting applications for the 2020 Deborah Harrell Livingston Memorial College Scholarship. This year’s award of a $500 scholarship is open to high school seniors who will be seeking a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year undergraduate college or university, or seeking an Associate’s degree from an accredited 2 year community or technical college.     March 15th: The Josie K. Claiborne Memorial Scholarship is for minority students of South Carolina majoring in engineering, science, technology, or mathematics. Applicants must be high school seniors attending college/university in the fall of 2020 with a B-average or higher. For more information, click here.
     
    March 15th: The South Carolina State Fair will award fifty $6,000 scholarships to students across the state to be paid at the rate of $1,500 per year over a four year period. The fifty 2020 scholars will be required to meet eligibility requirements deemed necessary by the South Carolina State Fair. For more information, click here.
     
    March 16th: American States Utility Services, Inc. is a proud utility provider for the United States military, supporting installations across the nation with efficient water and wastewater management. The ASUS, Inc. Scholarship Program is available to assist dependents of US Military Members or honorably discharged Veterans at ASUS-served locations. This program is for undergraduate study at an accredited two or four-year college or vocational-technical school in specialized fields of study.     March 16th: The Richland County Association of Educational Office Professionals (RCAEOP) student scholarships were established to assist students who wish to pursue higher education. All scholarships are valued at $500. For more information and an application, click here.
     
    March 17th: The Parnall Law Office is awarding a scholarship designed to help interested high school (upon graduation from high school) or college students in the United States to attend an institution of higher education, while also bringing to attention to the dangers of distracted driving.     March 21st: The Columbia (SC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is awarding a scholarship to eligibile students. All applicants must include a typed narrative of 400-750 words responding to the following prompt: Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your intended field of study. For other requirements/an application packet, click here.
     
    March 27th: The South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (SCCAWS) annually offers a scholarship to an incoming female college freshman from South Carolina. The scholarship is a one-time monetary award presented to a student who plans to major in education. For an application, click here.
     
    March 27th: The South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (SCCAWS) and Trophies by “M” annually offer a scholarship to an incoming female college freshman from South Carolina.  The scholarship is a one-time monetary award in the amount of $1000 presented to a student who plans to major in the medical field.     March 31st: If you are a dynamic, passionate, hard-working student in high school, college, university, or trade school, create a 2-4 minute video explaining why you think education is the key to a brighter future, and how you can shape society. The deadline for the second submission is March 31, 2020 and the winner will be announced on April 15, 2020. For more about the application process, click here.
     
    March 31st: This scholarship is open to any high school student who immigrated to the United States on or after January 1, 2010 and plans to live & work here. Applicants will need to write an essay that addresses the following points: 1.) Describe your background and how you ended up in the U.S., 2.)Why are you optimistic about living and working in the U.S.?, 3.) How does the U.S. compare to your home country?     April 1st: The Chi Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly announces its’ 2020 Scholarship program. The scholarship award categories are the Purple Scholarship ($2,000) and Gold Scholarship ($1,000). Applicants should be male high school seniors who reside in and attend high school in either Richland or Lexington counties. For an application, click here.
     
    April 1st: National Driving and Traffic School is proud to announce their 2019 scholarship opportunity, entitled “In the Driver’s Seat.” The company is seeking to reward essay applicants $3,000 in scholarships - for students entering college or already enrolled in a higher education institution – on the topic of being a safer driver. Applicants must be currently enrolled in High School or University/College as a full-time student (2019-2020 school year). Employees and relatives of National Driving and Traffic School are ineligible. There will be three contest submission dates. For more information, click here.
     
     
    April 15th: The Buffalo Soldiers of Columbia SC are offering scholarships to deserving, graduating high school students who meet their minimum requirements. Students who are awarded local scholarships may also be eligible for scholarships from the Southeast Frontier and National Association of Buffalo Soldiers.     April 15th: The Solomon Jackson, Jr., Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships annually to low income residents of the state of South Carolina who are graduates of public high schools or who obtained a high school equivalency diploma from the same state. Preference will be given to persons of color. The applicants must plan to attend an accredited and approved two-year or four-year institution within the United States.     April 24th: In honor of Hattie Mae Sims, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in order to support the financial needs of African American students pursuing their post-secondary education dreams and opportunities. For eligibility and an application packet, click here.
     
    April 26th: Honors Graduation is a graduation supply company based in American Fork, Utah, and is currently running a 2020 Design A Better Future scholarship program. This year we are offering scholarships of $10,000 each to five graduating high school seniors. For more information on this scholarship opportunity, click here.
     
    April 30th: The CHESTER Entrepreneur Scholarship was created to help students jumpstart their businesses while in school. CHESTER, a direct-to-consumer luggage brand believes in helping passionate, hardworking, and talented students achieve their dream of starting their own business. CHESTER will award one $2,500 scholarship to each winner. A total of 4 scholarships will be awarded for each calendar year. For more information, click here.
     
    April 30th: The Law Office of Kenneth Berger is offering a yearly $1,000 scholarship to a South Carolina student who is either preparing for their first year of college or is currently enrolled full time at a college or university. To apply, students must complete the application form attached here and write an essay on the dangers of distracted driving and what should be done to reduce or eliminate it. The essay must be at least 500 words, but not exceeding 1,000 words long. For more information, click here.
     
    April 30th: Self-Help Credit Union (SHCU) will establish and fund an annual scholarship to be awarded by each credit union in FL, SC, NC, and VA. For eligibility requirements/an application, click here.

    May 1st: The Maison Law Central Valley Community Scholarship is available to high school seniors who will be attending college in the fall.One student will be awarded $2,000(nonrenewable); to be paid directly to college or university admissions office. For more information, click here.
     
    May 1st: The attorneys at Brady Cobin Law Group recognize the importance of sound planning at every stage of life. They are pleased to sponsor a scholarship essay contest to help students with college education expenses and to focus attention on issues involved in preparing for the unexpected.     May 1st: The Beta Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has established a scholarship to recognize and support outstanding high school students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree as well as current enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.     May 1st: The Links Inc. (Columbia Chapter) Summer Scholarships are awarded based on financial need. This scholarship is available to students ages 10 to 18. This scholarship will help fund a student to attend a summer camp or summer program of their choice. For an application, click here.
     
    May 1st: The Greater Columbia Chapter of SC State University National Alumni Association awards academic scholarships annually to students. A one-time, nonrenewable scholarship of $1,250 is awarded. For an application and eligibility requirements, click here.
     
    May 15th: This scholarship is available to any student who has immigrated to the United States. Students must either be enrolled in, intending to enroll in, or currently attending the post-secondary institution. Students must be enrolled in the post-secondary institution for the Fall 2020-Spring 2021 academic year. To apply, click here.
     
    May 15th: The OptimizeMyFirm Law Firm Marketing Scholarship. We are proud to be offering the 2019-2020 scholarship to students with creative marketing ideas. The scholarship is not limited to students pursuing marketing degrees. One student will be awarded $1,000 (nonrenewable). For more information, click here.
     
    May 31st: To raise awareness as to the causes, consequences and treatment of addiction, Seasons in Malibu, an addiction treatment center, is seeking to reward essay applicants $1,500 in scholarships- for students entering college or already enrolled in a higher education institution.     May 31st: The Law Offices of Steers and Associates is proud to offer the 2019-2020 Personal Injury Attorney Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is available to students pursuing or planning on pursuing a career in law. In order to be eligible to participate in the program, applicants must be planning on attending an accredited United States college or university in 2020. This is open to both current college students as well as those planning on starting college next fall.     June 1st: The Distinguished Riders of Columbia South Carolina Scholarship's goal is to provide college scholarships to outstanding minority students who are graduating high school seniors ready to pursue a four-year baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university. To receive consideration, applicants must be a minority residing in South Carolina, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and demonstrate a financial need. For more information, click here.
     
    June 1st: Fundera provides financial resources and advice for small business owners. Fundera is awarding $2,000 every semester to a student who sends in a 3-minute video explaining how they would grow a local small business frugally. For more information, click here.
     
    June 1st: The Honoring our Heroes’ Children Scholarship seeks to provide educational assistance to children, who have at least one parent currently serving or who previously served in the U.S. Armed Forces or have at least one parent who volunteers or is employed as a First Responder. The scholarship must be used for higher education expenses for a student who will attend a two or four-year university. For more information, click here.
     
    June 1st: The Mid-Eastern Region of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Beta Chapter Educational Scholarship Program is awarding $500. For eligibility requirements and an application, click here.
     
    June 5th: Michael P. Fleming and Associates is proud to offer a college scholarship for high school seniors and undergraduate students enrolled in 2 to 4-year colleges. One scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to the author of the winning essay. The winner will be announced by July 3rd, 2020 on our blog and social media. Each applicant will submit an essay of approximately 500 words or 2 minute video essay on the topic: "At what age did you receive your first smartphone? How do you think it impacts your day-to-day activities and how do you think it impacts you while you’re behind the wheel?" For more information, click here.
     
    June 12th: Applicant must be a resident of the Sixth Congressional District of South Carolina, and plans to attend college, university, or technical school in the academic year of 2020. Additionally, applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate a financial need, and be classified as an entering freshman at an institution of higher learning in the fall of 2020.     June 30th: The 2019 El Dabe Ritter Scholarship is now available to any high school senior in the United States that desires to apply. It is for $1,500. More information can be found by clicking here.
     
    June 30th: The Josephine Whaley Memorial Scholarship is being awarded to a student in the amount of $800. The scholarship is intended to assist a needy, graduating high school senior in pursuit of his or her quest for high education. For an application, click here.

    July 20th: The Rosen & Ohr Scholarship is to help any student who has been impacted by being seriously injured (or by a family member being seriously injured). To apply, students must write a 750-1,000 word essay in response to the following prompt: "Write an essay explaining in detail how a serious accident involving you, a family member, or a close friend has impacted your life. This could have been a car crash, a slip-and-fall accident, a work-related injury, or any other serious accident. How has this injury impacted your college plans?"
